How does our order process work?

Placing An Order

First and foremost, all feeders are first come, first served.  We try and maintain ample quantities of all of our feeders, but due to variables that are out of our control, we at times may run low on certain prey types and sizes.  Please keep this in mind when placing an order.

Accepting orders via email, text, Facebook message, etc. and coordinating delivery dates, times, and locations on a large scale is not practical for us.  Instead, we have decided to use a website dedicated to placing weekly or one-time feeder orders.

Orders can be placed by clicking “Shop” at the top of our site.  Simply select the items and quantities of your choosing and then complete the checkout process.

When Must Orders Be Placed?

Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance of the desired pickup date/time.  If a pickup location offers only 1 pickup date each week, orders can be placed up to 7 days in advance of the pickup date.  For locations that offer multiple pickup dates each week, orders generally can be made a maximum of 4 days in advance of the pickup date.  We recommend ordering well in advance of the pickup date as orders are first come first served, so if you wait until the day before pickup to place your order, inventory levels may have changed from when you last viewed our site.  Also if ordering frozen rodents, we recommend ordering a couple days ahead of time to give us time to properly freeze your items.  

When Are Feeders Delivered?

On the right side of the checkout screen under the “Your Order” section you will notice a section labeled “Pickup Location”.  This section will allow you to select a pickup location, date, and time.  We currently have limited dates, times, and locations; however, as we grow we plan to offer more pickup options as well as delivery to your home or place of business.

How Do I Pay For My Order?

We currently only accept checks and debit/credit cards; we do not accept cash on delivery (with tax, most orders will require change, which we do not carry) or money orders.  At the bottom of the checkout screen you will have the option to select “Check Payments” or “Credit/Debit Card”.  Please make checks payable to Coastal Constrictors, LLC.  For check payments that are returned for lack of funds (NSF), the following charges apply: (1) $15 to recover the returned check fee charged by our bank; and (2) $50 processing charge.  Your credit card information can be keyed in at the bottom of the checkout screen, and all information is secured through 256-bit SSL encryption (click on image in the footer of this page to verify).  Also, all orders will include Virginia state sales tax. 

How Do I Pick Up My Order?

When checking out, you selected a date, time, and location to pick up your feeders.  We will be at that location just before the pickup time and will wait for 15 minutes.  If you have not arrived within 15 minutes of the selected pickup time, we will leave as we have other customers to meet.  We reserve the right to refuse service to customers that habitually no-show or late-show for their time.

Customers are required to bring their own means for transporting their feeders.  It is also the responsibility of the customer to transfer feeders from our totes to your totes; we will not pull feeders out for you.  To make pickup quicker and easier, we can provide transportation totes with dividers that you can use and return the following week, eliminating the need to physically move feeders from one tote to another at the pickup location.  These totes are specifically designed for small lab animal transport and are not cheap, so a one-time refundable deposit of $30 per tote is required.  At any time, you can return the tote for a full refund assuming the tote is still in a usable, undamaged condition.

Do You Offer Delivery to Residences/Businesses?

At this point in time, we only offer local pickup.  As we expand production and our customer base grows, it is our goal to be able to offer delivery directly to your home or place of business.  Check back periodically for updates.

Do You Have A Minimum Order Amount?

Yes, we do.  All orders must total at least $25 before tax.

Do You Have Minimum Order Quantities?

Live feeders can be ordered in any quantity.  Frozen feeders can be ordered in varying quantities depending on the prey type and size.  When adding frozen items to your cart, it will specify in what quantities the items must be ordered. 

Do You Offer Discounts?

We have been producing and raising ball pythons for years.  In our early years, we purchased our feeders from multiple suppliers.  Some were cheap but unreliable.  Some were pricey but reliable.  After riding that roller coaster for far too long, we decided that the only way to provide our snakes what they needed when they needed it was to produce our own feeders.  In doing that, we have developed an enormous appreciation for the time and effort that goes into raising feeders.  For that reason, we feel that our prices are more than fair given the quality of our feeders (we feed these same animals to our collection) and the service that we provide to our customers, so we do not offer any discounts.  However, we do offer bulk pricing on orders totaling $100 or more.  For orders that meet this threshold, please use promo code 10off at checkout.
